PADI Specialty courses

A specialty course can teach you new techniques and give you tools to enhance your experience. Specialty certifications can be a prerequisite for certain other courses, such as the Rescue Diver course. If you have an Adventure Diver certificate, each adventure dive can count as the first dive of any of the PADI specialty courses. Learning materials are available at the diving center or online.

Deep Diver

Minimum age: 15

Duration: 2 days

Number of dives: 4

Maximum depth: 40 m

Description: Learn to plan, organize and complete a dive deeper than 18 meters to a maximum of 40 meters.

Digital Underwater Photographer

Minimum age: 10

Duration: 2 days

Number of dives: 2

Description: Learn how to take photographs underwater, how to use the equipment and see which underwater photo gear suits you best. Your Instagram is sure to blow up after you start posting amazing underwater photos.

Dry Suit Diver

Minimum age: 10

Duration: 2 days

Number of dives: 3

Description: Using a dry suit requires specific skills, including achieving neutral buoyancy, hovering, letting the air out of the lower part of the suit in case of an emergency, entering and exiting techniques. After completing this course, you will be ready to dive all year long, regardless of the temperature.

Enriched Air Diver

Minimum age: 12

Duration: 1 day

Number of dives: 1 (optional)

Description: Diving with enriched air allows for longer dives, especially when doing multiple dives. You will learn how to check and analyze the content of your scuba tank, exposure to oxygen and how to plan a dive with enriched air.

Night Diver

Minimum age: 12

Duration: 3 days

Number of dives: 3

Description: Discover the underwater world after sundown. Learn how to use a flash light, signal light, whistle and gain orientation skills necessary for a night dive.

Peak Performance Buoyancy

Minimum age: 10

Duration: 1 day

Description: The perfect course if you’re unsure of your buoyancy skills. Learn to achieve neutral buoyancy, hover and get to know different types of weights. Find out how to best protect the underwater world.

Project AWARE

Description: Learn how to best treat the underwater environment, how to protect it, the difference between water and shore areas.

Search and Recovery

Minimum age: 12

Duration: 2 days

Number of dives:

Description: Learn to search the underwater terrain and correctly lift objects from the bottom to the surface. You will learn several search techniques and how to use special gear, such as a lifting balloon and rope.

Underwater Naturalist

Minimum age: 10

Duration: 1 day

Number of dives:

Description: Know what you’re looking at. During this course you will learn to identify flora and fauna, understand their interaction and learn the role of underwater plants in the food chain.

Underwater Navigator

Minimum age: 10

Duration: 2 days

Number of dives:

Description: Gain skills such as natural navigation, navigation by using a compass and Nav-Finder, learn to estimate distances, create underwater maps, locate objects under water and other skills.

Wreck Diver

Minimum age: 15

Duration: 2 days

Number of dives: 4

Description: Learn all about the equipment necessary for wreck dives, techniques for planning such a dive and how to measure and enter a shipwreck.
